Motorola has launched Aura in India, unveiled in Mumbai by its brand ambassador Abhishek Bachchan, who presented the first Aura to fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
Motorola Aura was first displayed at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona this month, and was launched in the US and UK earlier this month and now India.
“Aura is Motorola’s latest high-tier mobile device targeted at the trend-setter Indian who has a taste for the exquisitely stylish, unrivaled quality and sensuous luxury“ said, Faisal Siddiqui, head Motorola’s Indian operations.
Motorola’s Aura will burn a big hole in your pocket as it comes with hefty price tag of Rs. 1,11,000 and will be sold initially at selected cities like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai and Surat.
Aura is world’s first mobile which comes with 16million colors and circular display with 300 dpi resolution and is created from grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal, one of the most scratch-resistant materials on earth.
What makes Aura so special? Its Custom-engineered rotating mechanism has 130 precision ball bearings that drive the assisted-opening-blade. At the center of the mechanical heart is a swiss-made main bearing allowing the blade to rotate with seamless precision. Gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel protected with the same coating used in high-performance racing engine.
Aura supports a 2MP fixed focus camera, open source browser, Stereo Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, A2DP, round display, USB 2.0, weight’s 141.00 g and aluminum keys. It works on networks like the GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 and EDGE class 12 and GPRS class 1 and comes with 2GB of on-board memory.

WTF phone is this.. I can buy a 4 wheel auto rickshaw aka Tata NANO with the money..
Apart from different looks and sapphire, it does not have any feature which you won’t find in phones available in market for 1/10th of it’s price.

It’s for class.. Who wants to be and look Different… There is nothing much in Vertu also as per the technology but it costs 6 times more than this Moto-Aura
